In the grave of the brave

Our feet are crunching, crushing bones,
Releasing the remnants, of the spirits they hold.
As we move forward, the future calls, but the past before us echoes stories foretold.

Our arms are digging, unearthing gold,
Revealing the penance, our forefathers bore.
As we push on into ways unpaved, the light before us foresees stories untold.

Our minds are whirling, discarding mold,
Reproducing the essence, of our ideas on hold.
As we forge on, trying to be brave, we mustn’t forget that in the past we were bold.

When we look back to where we are, I hope we realize that we were where we are.
