In Children's Literature, Children's Poetry

Up in the sky, the moon lies awake
Shining down the earth’s darkened path.
She calls on sleep to cuddle us in
While mother reads the old sweet tale.

Up in the sky, the stars lay awake,
Twinkle twinkling all night long.
She hums with the crickets and birds aloud
While heavy eyelids worry not for tomorrow.
