Writers Space Africa Magazine (WSA) has exciting news to share! Chisom Benedicta, a highly acclaimed poet, editor, and blogger from Nigeria, has joined the team as its new poetry editor. Her appointment promises to bring a fresh and unique perspective to the magazine’s already vibrant literary community.

“For me, joining WSA is a dream come true,” says Chisom. “As an African writer and editor, I’m passionate about amplifying the voices of our diverse continent and showcasing the richness of African literature. I’m thrilled to be part of this exceptional team, and I can’t wait to curate exceptional poems that will inspire and captivate our readers.”

Chisom joins two other accomplished poetry editors, Omadang Yowasi from Uganda and Everisto Tatenda Simayo from Zimbabwe, to continue WSA’s mission of providing a platform for African writers to thrive and share their stories. Along with other editors in the editorial team, they will create a flourishing garden of literary delights, featuring a range of genres, including poetry, short stories, flash fiction, children’s literature, and creative nonfiction.

“WSA is more than just a literary magazine; it’s a vibrant community of writers who are passionate about exploring African themes and telling African stories,” says Omadang, “We’re thrilled to welcome Chisom to our team, and we’re excited to see what new perspectives and ideas she brings to the table.”

The founder of Writers Space Africa, Anthony ‘PenBoss’ Onugba, expressed his gratitude to Frank Njugi, the former poetry editor from Kenya, who stepped down to attend to other commitments. Frank’s contribution to the magazine will always be cherished, and the WSA team wishes him the best in his future endeavours.
